PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Bud Billiken Parade is the largest back to school parade in the world. One of the main resources that the Bud Billiken Parade partners provide to the community is school supplies. The Billiken Parade has partnered with our community partners to expand this program beyond the day of the parade.
School Supplies for Chicago provides much-needed support to our communities through collections from office supply drives, and generous back-to-school promotions from our corporate partners. The general public will also be able to individually donate by going to participating partnered locations as well as donating online. Our goal is to give away 1 million back to school ready backpacks(with supplies) to underprivileged youth in Chicago.

We focus on communities within the Chicagoland area where access to these resources are limited for a variety of reasons. These communities include:
Gage Park, West Lawn, West Englewood, Englewood, Bronzeville, Douglas, Fuller Park, Kenwood, Washington Park, Woodlawn, South Shore, Greater Grand Crossing, Auburn Gresham, Chatam, South Chicago, Roseland, Pullman, East Side, West Pullman, Riverdale, Rogers Park, Humbolt Park, Austin, W/E Garfield Park, N/S Lawndale.
