The Chicago Defender Charities Young and Gifted Master Classes is a year-round, interactive experience. It offers training, experience and opportunities by allowing students to take classes, online or in person, with experts in their fields. All classes take place within COVID-19 restrictions. Instructors will include professionals in the fields of coding, science, math, creative writing, career readiness, civic engagement, media production, financial literacy, and more. In addition, instructors will include the Bud Billiken audiences’ favorite creative professionals including (though not limited to) artists, actors, dance instructors and DJ’s. Many instructors will be provided by partners of the Chicago Defender Charities including sponsors, government agencies, corporations, TV/radio stations, educational institutions and other organizations and individuals. Activities will include presentations, seminars, creating and posting youth generated content on new and traditional media, performances, group discussions, competitions, preparing for intern and other employment opportunities, preparing for the Charities’ scholarship program, and more. Also, students will have an opportunity to meet and interview their favorite artists, experts, and more. Come join us as we endeavor to prepare, inspire and support our youth!
